The intention is to bring authentic, honest live music to Crewe. We use a variety of venues to suit each booking and our intention is to seek out the best in blues, new folk, acoustic singer songwriters, poets, writers; anyone who raises the standard of what’s on offer locally.
It’s not easy but we’re making the effort because somone needs to. Once a month we’ve put on a completely independent concert that has continued to challenge, entertain and take live music in Crewe up a gear or two.
We aren’t setting out to make profit – every concert is designed to pay for itself but at the same time we intend to take this seriously. We’re booking the kind of artists that we’ve been travelling to see in Manchester, Liverool and Birmingham and we’re bringing them to your doorstep.
We’re not in the music business and we don’t want to be – we’re just local guys who are trying to create a viable alternative for live music in Crewe so get in touch or just turn up. Be part of a new community that has started to act independently. Welcome to creweroots…

The Producers
The Royal Hotel, Crewe
Sunday, 28 June 2009
Yes, after several years’ absence, the boys are back in business – or, more graphically, in the words of promoter Ray Bruchez, ‘the Prods are prodding again’. Before their break-up, The Producers were undoubtedly one of the best and most popular blues bands in the UK. The reformed ensemble still boasts the exceptional talent of singer/guitarist Harry Skinner and Dave Saunders on bass guitar. New additions are Ray Drury on Hammond and piano and Biff Smith on drums. They will be playing their usual mix of Harry’s superb originals, including some newly-penned compositions, and excellent versions of some well-loved covers. What a mouth-watering prospect!
Bed and breakfast accommodation is also available at the hotel at £50 for a twin room and £30 for a single room. So come along, relax, enjoy the band, have a good night’s sleep and enjoy Ray’s legendary breakfast – that’s two mouth-watering prospects in a single visit.
The Royal Hotel is situated at 7 Nantwich Road, Crewe.CW2 6AG. Tickets for the concert (a snip at only £5 each) are obtainable from Ray Bruchez or Sonya on 01270-257398 or by email to rylhotel@yahoo.co.uk.
Saturday, 9th May at The M Club, Crewe – ‘Classic Rock And Blues Splash’ – Wishbone Ash, The Hamsters, Aynsley Lister Band, Tantrum and Stone Sole River.
Doors 5 pm, £17.50 in advance – Tel. 0871 230 1101 – www.thegigcartel.com

Rhythm Zoo have established themselves as an exciting Rhythm and Blues band. There is a certain feverish excitement when they play, knocking out classic blues with a modern soul slant, they are able to cover a lot of ground in a short time.
The band is the brain child of guitarist Steve Alden whose collaboration with the Joplinesque Andi Harrison on vocals creates the foundation of an interesting mix of musical styles. Drummer Dermot Hall adds a solidity and guts to anchor the band as a unit, while the silky sultry tones of sax player Dave Roberts put the icing on the top. Binding the rhythm and melody is bassist Dave Wilmore.

The great news for those of you within striking distance of Crewe is that creweroots presents Johnny Dickinson at SquareOne, Crewe on 11 Mar 2009.
Johnny Dickinson is without doubt one of the best performers that I have ever seen, his guitar playing is superb and his singing sublime. His music is a evocative blend of blues with traditional British music. A must see!
