The Tommy Allen Band including ace harp man Johny Hewitt will be appearing at The Sun at Llangollen on Saturday.
This venue has been a good little live music venue for years and has been visited by a number of very good acts in the last few years. It is also a recognised CAMRA ale house with a superb selection of cracking ales. The band will be on stage at 9pm. (check 01978 860079 in case the weather gets worse)

Karac (www.myspace.com/karacmusic) are a 4 piece Blues outfit based in Wales / North West (Guitarist Glynn Porrino hails from Warrington), They are:- Colin Roberts, Bass / Vocals, Steve ‘ Pablo’ Jones, Rhythm Guitar/Vocals/mandolin , Glynn Porrino, Lead Guitar and Chris ‘Monkey boy’ Jones on Drums. Glynn and Steve have been together for several years in various guises from Harvest Moon, who did exceptionally well in the 80’s all over the UK, to White Tygrz before Glynn moved onto NWOBHM outfit Nightwing. Steve and Chris were also in the very successful Welsh recording band ‘Profiad’. This current set up see the guys writing and performing mainly original tracks with a couple of well known covers thrown in for good measure. Their previous single ‘Paid a Mynd’ sung in Welsh, has been played heavily around the North Wales area to excellent review, and their latest latest EP, available at gigs priced £5, contains not only Paid a Mynd but also their latest single ‘That Hurts’ and ‘Signs’.
Recently the guys have been doing well on the festival circuit playing at Worthenbury for Hooker Blues, Colne on the British Stage and last month at the Skegness Rock & Blues Festival which was very well recieved by all, leading to several bookings throughout the coming year. Steve Jones has been doing the Blues circuit for several years now as the very successful artist ‘Pablo’.
Steve, together with fellow Karac member Colin, have also found fame recently by being individually selected for the ‘Can i Gymru’ competition, to be shown on S4c on March 1st (http://www.s4c.co.uk/canigymru/e_2009-comp.shtml) so if you want to vote for the lads check out the website!
Several new tracks are in the process of being laid down to be released on an album later in 2009.
Look out for Karac on 28th February at the Arts Pavilion in Llangollen.
