SMOKEHOUSE BLUES
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 20th 8:30pm
APPLETON THORN VILLAGE HALL
Nr. WARRINGTON
The promoters have finally managed to pin the band down to make a very welcome return to the multi-CAMRA award winning Village Hall on Saturday 20th February.
Barney Barnett (guitar), Russ Williams (stand-up bass) and Mark Donaldson (drums) complement Johnny Hewitt’s harp and vocals perfectly. Their mix of West Coast, Chicago blues and own material sounds even better than usual in the intimate venue.
They have restricted the audience, and admission by ticket is only £8. Admission may be available on the door (£9) but the last time they visited it was a sell out. Tickets are available from either the village hall itself or from Roger Kenyon on 07946 378599.
P.S.
They also have two other gigs scheduled and tickets are going fast for both of these. Even though they are not strictly blues based, the virtuosity of these two acoustic guitarists is quite something to behold.
- Saturday 20th March 8:30pm – Clive Carroll – Ticket £10 (no admission on door)
