RIP Louisiana Red

Posted on: Saturday, Feb 25, 2012

Sad to report the death today of blues legend Louisiana Red, who had been in a coma since suffering a stroke on Monday. Here’s some words from his great friend and musical companion Michael Messer, that I’m sure he won’t mind us posting here:

“I am very sorry to be bringer of such sad news that my dear friend, Louisiana Red, died this morning. He had a stroke on Monday and had been in a coma, so thankfully he did not have to suffer.
My thoughts go out to his wife, Dora, their family, and of course to so many friends and fans of this great man.”

Those of you who were at Worthenbury a couple of years ago won’t forget the fantastic night when Red mesmerised us with Michael Messer. A very sad loss and another legend leaves us
